Bloom's Taxonomy:  introduce students to the complexity of the top 3 levels of questions.  It's fun to point out that the higher level questions get us really "arguing (respectfully!)" with one another.  They are real fun challenges!

Best Books to Read:  

      • KNEE TO KNEE, EYE TO EYE  by Ardith Davis Cole explains how to improve children's conversation skills, step by step, in order to enhance literary discussions.  Phenomenal book!  (Notes: p. xv, xxi, 6, 7, 13, 15.20, 2427, 28, 33, 43, 44, 4563, 125 has appendix of recommended "Read Aloud" books.
      • Chapter 15 of GUIDING READERS AND WRITERS GRADES 3-6 by Fountas and Pinnel.
      • Literature circles resource guide by  Bonnie Cambell Hill, Katherine L. Schlick Noe, and Nancy J. Johnson.  This amazing resource book contains helpful handouts to copy as well as great books for Lit Circles that are categorized in themes and reading levels.  Highly recommended by Carrie Ekey.
      • MINI-LESSONS FOR LITERATURE CIRCLES by Harvey Daniels & Nancy Steineke in our curriculum center.
